This project intends to build an application that allows internal FDOT staff to: Zoom in to an area of interest on a GIS map View historical “construction complete” projects within the user-defined area of interest in in a results table below the map Select a project of interest and then view and/or download the Design and Construction business area documents related to that project In less than five minutes and five clicks, internal staff will be able to find the historical project documents they need.
Background: This project called Historical Project Doc GIS, "PRODO" for short, started back in July of 2020. Currently the application went live this past March of 2022 with Phase one. This was a full time, in house designing and developing.
Team Structure: I worked as part of a small team of a UI/UX designer, a front-end developer, two back-end developers and a business analyst. I served as both the UI/UX designer and the front-end developer for this web application.
My Responsibilities: My task was to design a user interface incorporating a GIS mapping third party system paired with an admin dashboard for the applications results and management. While providing a robust modern UI experience, responsive design, and AA level accessibility for all the FDOT employees to use.
Deliverables: After several meeting with the team and the stakeholders, our team was able to successfully establish a list of deliverables for phase one of this project.
